It’s time to nominate our students and colleagues for Division 10 awards!
Div. 10 gives out four awards each year, three of which are open to nominations. (The Farnsworth outstanding service award is not given every year, and is awarded at the committee’s discretion.)
The nomination deadline is December 15, 2020.
Award Descriptions and Requirements
Frank X. Barron Award
This award honors superior contributions to the psychology of aesthetics, creativity, and the arts by students. The award honors notable creativity researcher Frank X. Barron.
Required Materials:
- 2 letters of recommendation
- Nominee’s current vita
- 1 or 2 representative publications
Daniel E. Berlyne Award
The Division presents the Berlyne Award in recognition of outstanding research by an early career scholar (i.e., within 10 years of final degree). The recipient will present the Berlyne address at the annual APA Convention.
Required Materials:
- 2 letters of recommendation
- Nominee’s current vita
- 2 or 3 representative publications.
Rudolf Arnheim Award
We also request nominations for the Rudolf Arnheim Award for outstanding lifetime achievement in the psychology of aesthetics, creativity and the arts. The recipient will present the Arnheim address at the annual APA Convention.
Required Materials:
- 2 letters of recommendation
- Nominee’s current vita
- 3 or 4 noteworthy publications.
How to Submit
Nominees must be members of Division 10. All nominations must include the required submission materials (described above) received no later than December 15, 2020. Late or incomplete nominations will not be evaluated. Also, when nominating a student or a colleague, please be sure to inform them of the nomination. They will be honored at the APA convention, which is expected to be virtual.
