Psychology of Aesthetics, Creativity, and the Arts (PACA), the official publication of APA’s Division 10 (Society for the Psychology of Aesthetics, Creativity, and the Arts), is seeking applicants to fill several Associate Editor vacancies.
Our Journal is devoted to promoting scholarship on the psychology of the production and appreciation of the arts and all aspects of aesthetic and creative endeavor. To that end, we publish manuscripts presenting original empirical research and papers that synthesize and evaluate extant research that relates to the psychology of aesthetics, creativity, and the arts.
Associate Editors are expected to handle approximately 30-40 manuscripts per year for PACA, in the process making decision recommendations to Editors Thalia R. Goldstein and Amy Belfi. Appointments for the Associate Editor role are for the duration of 2 years (in this case from 1 August 2023 through 30 July 2025). During their years of service, Associate Editors receive an annual stipend for their service, as well as a complimentary electronic subscription to PACA. The Journal will also do its best to accommodate the demands on their time when possible.
Being an Associate Editor represents an important service to our field, not only in terms of ensuring the quality of the review process, but also in mentoring young professionals. Your nomination as an Associate Editor also recognizes your conscientiousness, skill, and expertise in the field. Given the amazing caliber of excellent researchers in our field, we look forward to receiving many high-quality applications for consideration for this opportunity. Please note that the application deadline for this vacancy is July 1, 2023. International candidates and candidates for whom English is not the first language are especially encouraged to apply.
Please send application materials (i.e., a 2-page cover letter discussing your background, areas of expertise and goals for the Journal as Associate Editor, and a CV) and have 2 letters of recommendation sent to Thalia Goldstein (tgoldste@gmu.edu) and Oshin Vartanian (oshinv1@mac.com). If you have any questions or need additional information regarding this opportunity, please do not hesitate to contact them directly.
